About Paul Williams, Commercial Photographer on the Gold Coast

I didn’t start out as a photographer. My background is in design and marketing, working as a Senior Graphic Designer, including time with international agencies, before I ever picked up a camera professionally. That’s shaped everything since. I don’t just think about what an image looks like, I think about what it needs to do for the brand behind it.

22 years, 1,600+ shoots, assignments in 7 countries
Since then, I’ve spent 22 years as a commercial photographer, shooting 10 years in Singapore and Dubai, 12 years in Australia, delivering over 1,600 jobs along the way. Industrial sites, product ranges, corporate portraits, the subjects change, but the skill underneath every shoot doesn’t; real mastery of light, built over two decades.

One studio, no gaps
My studio is based in Murwillumbah, just 25 minutes from Gold Coast airport, one of relatively few dedicated commercial photography studios in the region. From here, I service Brisbane to Byron Bay as my home base, and travel further when a job calls for it. For product clients elsewhere in Australia, my ship-&-shoot service means your products can be sent in, professionally shot, and returned, no travel required on either end.
Studio, on-location and aerial work, plus video, all come from one supplier. You brief me once, not three different specialists.

Why it matters
There’s no shortage of people with a camera these days. What’s harder to find is someone who understands what a brand actually needs, gets it right the first time, and treats your project with the same care whether it’s a single product shot or a full campaign. That’s what 22 years and 1,600 jobs has taught me, and it’s what I bring to every brief.

Recognised for it
The work’s been recognised along the way too, a Top 10 world ranking from the Foodelia International Food Photography Awards being a major highlight among others. I’m proud of that, but it’s the two decades of getting it right for real clients that actually matters most.
